The Art of Protest

Art, activism and political change

The first two films in the series, ‘The Language of Lying’ and ‘The Language of Protest’ both garnered awards at the New York Festivals TV & Film Awards and an international Medea Award. This third film, The Art of Protest features artists Peter Kennard and Turner Prize winner Helen Cammock.

"Congratulations to all at Hamlett Films, the film is great, art and socio-political activism come through as inextricably bound together in both our work. It's visually really rich."

Both artists tell the stories of their work, activism and help students learn about disruptors as well as giving a voice to women and to the silent or quietened. The film was made for The Open University School of Linguistics.
